Hello scientists,

We are excited to announce an ICP-MS Laboratory Scientist position in
the Stanford Isotope Geochemistry Measurement and Analysis (SIGMA)
Facility https://sigmalab.stanford.edu/. The facility is home to a
Picotrace clean lab, Agilent  8900 ICP-MS/MS, Neptune and Nu HR
MC-ICP-MS and an AS Resolution laser.  The facility is part of the
Stanford Doerr School Shared Analytical labs so we work with researchers
from all the departments in the School of Sustainability
https://sustainability.stanford.edu/and across campus and the medical
center.  Our primary users are from the Earth and Planetary Science
Department and the Earth Systems Science Department.

This position will help our users (~20 new users annually) plan and
execute the analytical work that takes place in our facility while
maintaining compliance to safety regulations.  This requires a lot of
hands-on training of users with different skill sets (undergrads to
visiting faculty)  and backgrounds (Earth Sci, Mat Sci, Medicine) in the
clean lab facility. The ideal candidate should be very proficient at
working in the clean lab performing dilutions, digestions, column
chemistry and making concentration standards. See the official listing
linked below for more about the position.

The official job listing is here
https://careersearch.stanford.edu/jobs/icp-ms-laboratory-research-scientist-30061.
We will begin the initial review of applications on April 1 2026.
