Dear Meteoritical Society Members,

I hope that this finds you and yours safe and well. As per our previous
communication to our membership, owing to the unprecedented circumstances
relating to COVID-19, we have had to cancel our Annual Meeting this year
(which was originally scheduled to take place in Glasgow). The Meteoritical
Society Council has now had a chance to review the situation and to confer
with our meeting organizers for the meetings that had been scheduled for
the next few years, and I wanted to share with you here the Council’s
decisions regarding our Annual Meetings between now and 2024.

At present, the Annual Meetings scheduled are as follows:

2020 Cancelled

2021 Chicago, August 15-20

2022 Glasgow, August 14-19

2023 Perth, dates TBD

2024 Brussels, dates TBD

The Council has also decided that all the 2020 Meteoritical Society award
winners and the 2020 Fellows will be recognized in person at the meeting
next year in Chicago. However, we will additionally plan to recognize all
our 2020 award winners and Fellows during a virtual Business Meeting of the
Meteoritical Society (a link for this will be forthcoming soon) at noon
U.S. Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. For those unable
to join this Business Meeting live, we will be posting a recording of it on
our website.  Moreover, we will be scheduling the Leonard Medal and
Barringer Medal citations and acceptances (including lectures) virtually
this year – the dates and times for these will additionally be shared with
you in the near future, and recordings of these will also be posted on our
website.

Wishing everyone the very best during these challenging times,

Mini

Meenakshi Wadhwa

Director and Professor
