Dear Members of The Meteortical Society,

Two announcements about our Journals:

  1. As you may be aware, Marc Norman is stepping down as the Executive
Editor of Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, our joint publication with the
Geochemical Society. We thank Marc for his many years of service in
maintaining the high standards and continued growth of the Journal. His
six-year tenure as Executive Editor has been marked by steadily rising
submissions and impact factor for GCA.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jeffrey G. Catalano, Professor of
Aqueous Geochemistry and Mineralogy in the Earth and Planetary Sciences
Department, Washington University in St Louis will be the new Executive
Editor for GCA, commencing on January 1, 2019. He is working closely with
Marc to ensure a smooth transition for the journal.

  1. By recommendation of The Society’s Publication Committee and vote by
Council, Tim Jull was asked to continue as the Editor of Meteoritics and
Planetary Science for another term. The Society values the work that Tim
has to put into the Journal. We are happy to announce that Tim has accepted
and will continue as the Editor of MaPS.
