EGU GMPV ECS Campfires - Meet the GMPV ECS awardees - Thursday 25/09 @4pm CEST

Dear All,

The EGU Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Petrology and Volcanology ECS committee is excited to invite you to the first Campfire talks of the 2025/2026 season, which will be given by the GMPV ECS awardees of the 2025 General Assembly.

This Campfire will take place on the 25th of September at 4 pm CEST.

We are looking forward to hearing the talks of:

  • Laura Lünenschloss - 2024 Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Award, Master  student @ University of Tübingen, Germany on: "H2O-vesicle  formation in the hybrid region of a bimodal melt system. An experimental progress"

  • Dong Wang - 2024 Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Award, PhD  student @ University of Science and Technology, China on: "Thermal Conductivity  of Lower Mantle Minerals: Implications for the Heat Flux from the Earth's Core"

  • Renée Tamblyn - 2025 Division Outstanding Early Career Scientist Award, PostDoc  @ University of Bern, Switzerland for groundbreaking work in : Petrochronology of subduction processes, komatiite hydration and production of H2 as an energy source for early life, as well as her role in developing a new in-situ method for Lu-Hf geochronology

The EGU Campfires are a free one-hour online seminar consisting of three to four 10-12-minute talks. These presentations give you an opportunity to share your work in a relaxed and friendly environment to like-minded scientists.
