I hope everyone has seen the announcements for the 1st
https://msaweb.org/Annual https://msaweb.org/ MSA Meeting, to be held
in Tucson in February 2026 https://msaweb.org/. The abstract deadline is
soon: midnight US Eastern this Friday, 31 October!

Given the looming deadline for abstract submission, I want to bring an
exciting aspect of this meeting to your attention:

*MSA and sponsors are committing funds to support student participation in
the meeting. *

When students (graduate, undergraduate) submit their abstracts, they should
indicate that they are students. If the abstract is accepted, the student
will be asked to provide a basic budget for expenses (travel, lodging,
meals). MSA will provide funds to as many eligible students as possible. In
some cases, the funds will cover all expenses, including the registration
fee.

MSA welcomes and encourages donations to the student travel support fund.
If you are interested in donating, please contact Ann Benbow at
abenbow@minsocam.org.

Eventually, we hope to have a stable and sustainable source of funding for
student participation in future meetings. For this first
meeting, however, we are focusing on helping as many students as possible,
so funds donated now will be used directly for this purpose.

Thank you, and I hope to see many of you in Tucson in February!
