Dear colleagues,
Save the date!
Please consider attending the 25th Deformation Mechanisms, Rheology & Tectonics (DRT) meeting 11-15th April 2027 in Leeds, UK.
This is the first announcement of the conference.
Venue: Woodhouse Grove School, Bradford/Leeds, UK
Dates: 11-15 April, 2027 (1 day Excursion 11th April 27)
This time the selected venue allows for an all-in-one experience, where conference venue, meals and accommodation are all set in one school campus. This will allow ample time for discussions, socializing and fun.
DRT meetings are devoted to the study of deformation behaviour and the rheology of rocks and minerals and to encourage in-depth dialogue between researchers working at all scales of field, experimental and theoretical studies of rock deformation. DRT meetings aim to provide a forum for field geologists, experimentalists and modellers alike.
Beside the traditional DRT themes, the DRT2027 will focus on:
- Structural Geology for the Energy Transition
- Hazard assessment: Novel ways to improve hazard assessment by combining deformation mechanisms, rheology and geophysical signatures
- The significance of coupled mineral reactions and deformation on mineral deposit evolution
Registration and more details will soon follow.
Please save the date!
Hope to see many of you in Leeds,
