Dear all,

We are pleased to invite further contributions to a Special Collection of the Mineralogical Magazine dedicated to exploring the mineralogical, geochemical, and physical processes that shape Earth’s mantle.

This issue aims to bring together diverse perspectives on mantle melting, volatile behaviour, and deep Earth dynamics.

We welcome original research from a broad range of approaches including field studies, experimental petrology, geochemical analysis, thermodynamic modelling, and mineral physics.
Submissions may address (but are not limited to):

COH fluids and volatile-rich melts in crust–mantle exchange
*
Major and trace element composition of deep fluids and melts
*
Petrological records of CO₂-bearing fluids and melts (e.g., melt/fluid inclusions, metasomatized xenoliths, multicomponent mineral-fluid/melt systems)
*
Subsolidus and melting reactions in the lithospheric and convecting mantle
*
Solid-state diffusion and metasomatism in the upper mantle
*
Processes at the lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary
*
Assimilation and fluid-rock interaction during magma ascent
*
Mantle melting, differentiation, and redox evolution
*
Variations in these processes over geological time
*
Implications on crustal growth and differentiation, ore deposit genesis, and deep volatile cycles

This Special Collection offers an opportunity to showcase innovative work that advances our understanding of deep Earth processes.
Contributions from researchers at all career stages and from related disciplines are warmly encouraged.
✅Submission Deadline: July 1st, 2025
