Dear colleagues, all my apologies for cross-postings and please advertise to potential candidates. *PhD opportunity at the Institute of Petrology and Structural Geology, Charles University in Prague.* A PhD research topic in Experimental Petrology entitled “Heterovalent elements in apatite as proxies for the oxidation state of magmas” is available at the Institute of Petrology and Structural Geology, Charles University in Prague, under the supervision of Dr Alessandro Fabbrizio. Analytical work (SEM, EMPA, LA-ICP-MS) will be done at Charles University. Previous experience in experimental petrology is not needed but a solid background in petrology/geochemistry/mineralogy is required. The first year salary will be around 14500 CZK (tax exempted) with the possibility to increase in the following years depending on availability of funding. To give an idea of the living cost, the monthly rent in the University dormitories is around 5000 CZK.
