The laboratory “Magmas et Volcans”, Clermont-Ferrand, France,
(https://lmv.univ-bpclermont.fr/fr/) opens a tenured Professorship in
Experimental Petrology and Magmatology.
The applicant will have to be a leading scientist in the area of study
of petrologic, magmatic and metamorphic processes and their relationship
to the Earth's internal dynamics using
high pressure-high temperature experiments and/or the observations of
natural geological objects and physical modeling.
The position involves teaching in the area of Earth Sciences at the
University Clermont-Auvergne.
The applicants to a full professor position must have another degree in
addition to the PhD (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches [HDR]) and
get a qualification to the function of professor. Applicants from
foreign countries may be exempt from this degree and qualification if
they have a long experience of research and teaching and are already
professor. As a senior assistant professor, it is possible that you will
be exempt but I am not sure. In any case, the application will be
